Video Overview

Embeds video from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, or a self-hosted file. Supports inline playback and lightbox mode, a custom image overlay with a configurable play icon, and per-source player options.

Video#

• Source: YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Self Hosted
• URL: Video URL with dynamic tag support (YouTube / Vimeo / Dailymotion)
• Choose File: Media library video file (Self Hosted, no external URL)
• External URL: Toggle to use a raw URL instead of a media library file (Self Hosted)
• Start Time: Seconds to begin playback from (disabled when Loop is on)
• End Time: Seconds to stop playback (YouTube and Self Hosted only; disabled when Loop is on)
• Aspect Ratio: 16:9, 21:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:2, 1:1
• Video Options

  • Preload: Auto, Metadata, None — <video> preload attribute (Self Hosted only)
  • Lightbox: Open video in Elementor's lightbox overlay instead of inline
  • Autoplay: Start playing when the widget scrolls into view (not available in Lightbox mode)
  • Play On Mobile: Allow autoplay on mobile devices (visible when Autoplay is on)
  • Mute: Mute audio
  • Loop: Repeat video when it ends (not available for Dailymotion)
  • Player Controls: Show / Hide native player controls (not available for Vimeo)
  • Controls Color: Custom color for the player UI (Vimeo and Dailymotion only)
  • Captions: Enable closed captions by default (YouTube only, requires Player Controls)
  • Privacy Mode: Use youtube-nocookie.com to avoid cookies until the user plays the video (YouTube only)
  • Suggested Videos: After playback: Current Video Channel / Any Video (YouTube only)
  • Video Info: Show / Hide the video title and info bar (Dailymotion only)
  • Logo: Show / Hide the Dailymotion logo (Dailymotion only)
  • Intro Title: Show / Hide the video title in the Vimeo intro (Vimeo only)
  • Intro Portrait: Show / Hide the creator portrait in the Vimeo intro (Vimeo only)
  • Intro Byline: Show / Hide the creator byline in the Vimeo intro (Vimeo only)

Image Overlay#

Controls the thumbnail shown before playback begins.

• Image Overlay

  • Default (API): fetches the thumbnail from the video provider
  • Custom: use a manually chosen image. (embed sources only)

• Thumbnail Size: Maximum Resolution, High Quality, Medium Quality, Standard Quality (YouTube + Default API only)
• Image: Media picker with dynamic tag support (Custom overlay type)
• Poster: Media picker for the poster image shown before a self-hosted video plays (Self Hosted only)

Vimeo and Dailymotion thumbnails are fetched via their respective APIs

Play Icon#

• Icon Type: None / Icon (icon library) / Image (media)
• Select Icon: Icon library picker
• Select Image: Media picker (Image type)
• Glow Effect: Adds an animated radial glow animation around the play icon
